More than £15,000 raised after woman dies saving baby daughter

A woman who was killed pushing her pram out of the path of a lorry has been hailed as a hero for saving her daughter’s life. The woman who was named locally as Lauren Heath, was in her 20s and described as a doting mum. She died at the scene in Basingstoke Road, Reading, on Wednesday but her daughter, Millie, survived with a minor injury. Following the incident, more than £15,000 has been raised so far to help secure Millie’s future. One donor wrote on the gofundme site: “My heartfelt condolences to Lauren’s family and little girl, so sad, such a courageous young lady.” Proceeds from the fund, which was set up by a woman who got to know Heath through a social media mothers’ group, will pay for her funeral and a trust fund for Millie.
